Last Friday, Opturion CEO Alan Dormer gave a presentation for AIIM Australasia about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) will impact the information age and reshape industrial and geopolitical standards.

Opturion hosted an interest group for organisations from a diverse range of industries to discuss the challenges and opportunities of optimisation technology. With presenters from Austin Health, Toll, Data61 and Monash University, the seminar featured thought-provoking presentations that stimulated involved discussion among the attendees.

On November 16, Opturion's Alan Dormer delivered a presentation on optimisation and industrial applications of constraint programming at CSIRO Data61's Sci+Tech in the City.

​Opturion is partnering with TurboViz, Oracle and Samsung to host a seminar on the technologies that will shape the transport and logistics industries in the years to come.

Mike Angley, Director of Flexibles Manufacturing at Sealed Air, is making a presentation at the SMART conference in Sydney about his experience with Opturion. Sealed Air have a number of Opturion applications that have increased productivity and reduced costs. 

​Linfox and Opturion have entered into a license agreement for the Opturion Platform to address some of the important optimisation challenges within the business.

​Opturion has been successful in obtaining a $200,000 grant from the Department of Industry Accelerating Commercialisation programme. The grant will support the application and development of tools to address end-to-end supply chain optimisation, based on the Opturion Platform. Toll, Nike, Mainstream Aquaculture and Sealed Air are partners in the project.

Opturion is now being used by Savills Australia to assist clients in tailoring their supply chain, efficiently and effectively.

Savills supply chain director Bob Quirk said the firm selected Opturion, “because they are an Australian company that has the power to help us tap into the well of a client’s big data and use it quickly to help understand and optimise its supply chain.”

​Opturion has been helping Schneider Electric organise their deliveries through Startrack, analysing their expectations and improving performance. 

On Tuesday 30 October, Opturion CEO Alan Dormer will be speaking on high performing railways at the Australasian Railway Association Telecommunications and Technology Forum.

Opturion have completed a Federal Government funded project to apply its optimisation technology, end-to-end, in a number of complex supply chains. Three domains were selected: retail, agri-business and retail. Proof-of-concept applications have been created for Nike, Toll, Mainstream Aquaculture and Sealed Air. This technology is now available in the cloud and Opturion is working with a range of partners to facilitate global market entry.

Hitachi Rail Europe have awarded Opturion a contract to investigate maintenance optimisation of the Class 395 fleet. The Class 395 "Javelin" is built for high-speed commuter services on High Speed 1 and elsewhere in Kent.

​Opturion has delivered an advanced staff rostering and optimisation system for one of the largest distribution centres operated by Toll Custom Solutions. The system has a number of novel features including modelling of individual productivity and the ability to quickly re-optimise when workload changes.
