Mark Wallace

Mark has over four decades of experience in AI and optimisation research. Prior to joining Opturion, he held academic appointments at Monash University, Imperial College London, and other leading institutions. He has authored hundreds of research publications and played a foundational role in the design of modern constraint-based optimisation frameworks.

At Opturion, Mark’s work ensures that the technology remains at the cutting edge—scalable, explainable, and flexible across industries. He’s particularly passionate about building systems that go beyond performance, offering transparency and trust to end users.

Mark holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and continues to mentor postgraduate researchers in optimisation and decision science. His work bridges theory and practice, making it possible to tackle large-scale, high-impact problems in transport, manufacturing, energy, and beyond.
